Androgy:Nous

A group art exhibition about body-related art

Organised and curated by the Creative Director of ceekayello, Karen Chan, Androgy:Nous is a group art exhibition that explores the blurriness within the gender boundaries limited by our physical structures and mentality.

With globalisation, ideas and knowledge travel the world. Even with the art world, mediums expand from traditional mediums, from 2D canvas to 3D installation, virtual reality space or even our bodies.

Our body is not and cannot be perfect, but it makes us who we are. Some physical impairment to our eyes could be gems in other’s eyes. Our standard perceptions are applied by our social standard and culture. Apart from biological perceptions based on social stereotypes, gender received ideas appear in our society as well. Through the exploration of the androgyny theme, we would like to bring out the blurriness within the gender boundaries limited by our physical structures and mentality.

With the support of Tai Pan Row and Heroes Beer Co., Androgy:Nous houses artworks that ranged from creative ceramics, to floral installation that sends out aromatic scents that compliment with vivid and eccentric illustrations. From our rich diversity of artists, their uses of mediums are their expressions of individualism and personal identity. Through all these works related to body art, we wish to break boundaries in social perceptions, and contextualise the interweave of gender within thy body.
